PK vs RCB Dream11 Team, Probable Playing XI, Toss, Pitch and Match Preview. Dynamic Punjab Kings take on stable Royal Challengers Bangalore at Ahmadabad in Match No 26 of the VIVO IPL 2021.
The Big Picture
Inclusion of Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith has not solved the purpose for Punjab. The franchise needs to give the duo a longer run to acclimatize if they expect results from them. On the other hand, RCB have been doing the basics right, despite of a rough game against CSK they have got back to winning ways. Overall, the two teams have competed 26 times PK have won 14 matches and RCB have won 12. However, since 2019 RCB have won 4 out of 6 matches against PK.
Punjab Kings
Since 2019, Punjab Kings on an average have conceded 52 runs in the last 5 overs and have just picked up 2 wickets against RCB. Considering Nicholas Pooran’s poor run this season Punjab are tempted to give Dawid Malan a chance. PK must use Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi against AB de Villiers, who has been in red hot form against Shami and Jordon. The RCB wicket keeper has scored 101 runs of 54 balls against the PK duo. Since 2018, PK spinners have picked up 16 wickets, whereas fast bowlers have picked up 11 wickets against RCB. Punjab batsmen have an excellent record against Yuzi Chahal. In the last three seasons Chahal has conceded runs at an economy rate of 8.63 and have picked up 5 wickets in 6 matches against PK.
Royal Challengers Banagalore
AB de Villiers lately has been in incredible form; he has brutally destroyed the opposition by scoring at a strike rate of 242.82 during the death overs. Since 2019, RCB on an average have scored 56 runs against PK with a loss of 1 wicket during the power play overs. KL Rahul averages 74.2 with a strike rate of 155.23 against RCB. Washington Sundar has successfully kept the PK captain quiet especially by coming around the wicket. Rahul’s strike rate falls 90 while facing spinners around the wicket. Harshal Patel has already picked up 17 wickets in 6 matches, no bowler in the IPL history has achieved these feet.
Pitch Conditions and Toss
Ahmadabad has about 11 pitches six made up of red soil and five made of black soil. The black soil wicket will generally be slow paced, whereas the red soil wicket will turn. The tracks used so far were a hint slower than expectation and had an uneven bounce the average score on this wicket is 150 for the loss of 6 wickets. The wicket gets slightly slower as the match progresses but the dew in the evening makes up for the slowness of the wicket. Side winning the toss will opt to bowl first. 175 looks to be a par score on this wicket.

PK vs RCB Dream11 Wicketkeepers
Due to a poor run I have excluded Nicholas Pooran from my team. KL Rahul and AB de Villiers are my obvious choices. Since 2019 KL has scored 322 runs against RCB at a strike rate of 157, whereas his counterpart has scored 228 runs with a strike rate of 157.24 against PK.
PK vs RCB Dream11 Batsmen
Glenn Maxwell and Devdutt Padikkal are my first-choice batsmen. I have selected them over Virat Kohli due to his price tag in fantasy league, his current form and record against Punjab is not as good as one can imagine. Mayank Agarwal is the third batsman in my squad who is currently PK’s second highest run scorer. I have selected David Malan as my fourth batsman, Malan comes in as a T20 specialist who can be a perfect fit for Pooran who has been struggling. Incase Malan does not make it to the playing XI I will select Chris Gayle.
PK vs RCB Dream11 All-Rounders
Since the Ahmedabad wicket supports seam bowlers, I have selected Daniel Sams over Hooda and Sundar. Sams has been economical in the only match he played this season. The lanky all-rounder can hit some mighty blows down the order.
PK vs RCB Dream11 Bowlers
I have selected 4 fast bowlers to get the best results from the Ahmedabad wicket. Mohammed Shami remains PK’s first choice bowler, who has picked up 7 wickets so far and has been reasonably economical. Arshdeep Singh has been going great guns especially during the death overs. Harshal Patel has been sensational for RCB this season, Patel has bowled with an incredible strike rate of 8.47. Kyle Jamieson is expected to make the most out this surface as he hits the deck to extract extra bounce.
PK vs RCB Dream11 Captain & Vice Captain
Captain: KL Rahul and AB de Villiers
Vice-Captain: Harshal Patel and Devdutt Padikkal
