Dream 11 IPL Match 15: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Vs Rajasthan Royals (RR) are placed 6th and 5th in the points table respectively. Either team winning the match will briefly be at the top of the IPL table.

Head to Head

The Head to Head between these two teams is slightly in favour of Rajasthan Royals (RR)

In total, they have played 21 matches out of which RR have won 10 matches while KKR have won 8, the rest were abandoned.

In the last four matches played between these two teams, RR has won 3 out of the 4 matches played and one match was abandoned.

Top Players of RR and RCB

RCB:

  • V Kohli: He hasn't performed as per the expectation in the first two matches of IPL but he is arguably the best batsman in the world of cricket right now, so sooner or later he will come to the party.

  • AB de Villiers: He has looked solid in all the three matches he has played, he has scored 134 runs in this edition of IPL at a strike rate of 186.11 and an average of 67.

  • A Finch: He played a very solid knock against MI in the previous match and his return to form bolsters an already strong RCB batting line-up.

  • Y Chahal: The ace Indian spinner was expensive against MI but on that day almost every bowler was taken apart. S Samson versus Y Chahal should be an exciting contest to watch.

  • D Padikkal: As an opener, he has scored at a decent Strike Rate of 132.14 so far. In both the games that RCB won he was the one who gave them a good start by scoring a fifty at the top.

RR:

  • S Smith: RR captain got out early against KKR which is a rear failure for him. He has scored two fifties in this edition and would want to get back to making runs against RCB.

  • R Uthappa: He has been a total disappointment for the team up until now. There are chances that he might be dropped in the match, but as I have mentioned in the past his return in form can bolster an already strong batting line up.

  • J Archer: He was exceptional versus KKR in the previous match where he picked two wickets giving away only 18 runs. He has become an integral part of RR bowling line up and is one of the most dangerous finishers with the bat as well.

  • S Samson: He like Smith scored 50 in his first two matches but failed to score in the 3rd match. We have seen in past if he gets going he can turn the match around with his aggressive yet elegant batting.

  • J Buttler: The English swashbuckling opener hasn't played a game-changing innings as yet, who knows today just might be his day.

Player to watch out for

V Kohli: He would be desperate to be back amongst the run-scorers after 3 back to back failures.

R Tewatia: He wasn't utilized completely by S Smith in the previous match but could be pitched against V Kohli after his failure against R Chahar in the match against MI.

W Sundar: He was by far the best bowler in the match against MI but would he be able to repeat the feat against the likes of J Buttler and S Smith at the top is to be seen.

On paper, both the sides look equally strong. If we talk about form RCB would be high on confidence after clinching a nail-biter against MI. RR faltered with the bat against KKR but are expected to bat much better against RCB. Overall, a tough choice to make, I would pick RR slightly above RCB because of the presence of a consistent pace bowler in their squad.
